Silversun Pickups add headline show at London’s ULU to upcoming tour as support to Placebo; new single ‘Substitution’ out December 7th

Previously confirmed as support on the upcoming Placebo arena tour that will see them play before a combined audience of 30,000, Silversun Pickups have added their own headline show at London’s ULU on December 10th. Tickets for the show are on sale now priced at £13 and are available from www.livenation.co.uk. They will release the new single ‘Substitution’ on December 7th to coincide with the show.

The addition of the ULU means that their upcoming UK tour schedule is as follows:

Silversun Pickups’ current album release ‘Swoon’ debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard album charts, while ‘Panic Switch’ became the first single by an artist on an independently distributed label to top the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Songs chart since 1998 and only the third in history. They also filmed an MTV Unplugged special.

The band’s two UK headline tours have featured a total of five sold-out London shows and they’ve also supported The Killers at Hard Rock Calling and Snow Patrol at London’s Roundhouse as part of this year’s iTunes Festival. Their remaining tour plans for the year include further shows with Placebo in Ireland as well as shows across mainland Europe and North America.

Silversun Pickups were recently nominated for the mtvU Woodie of the Year Award that recognises the artists who made the biggest splash on mtvU and the college music scene this past year. Their competition for the prize includes Kings of Leon and MGMT.
