Rodrigo Y Gabriela Interview So it shows you that you must never compromise… Never, never, we always do what we do best and we are such a pain in the arse for our record company… And will the next album be a live one? Yeah, I think so… But we really don’t know yet. With an increasingly concerned tour manager desperate for Gabriela to do her sound-check, the interview closed. I was impressed with her youthful enthusiasm and passion, along with her uncompromising commitment to the duo’s style of acoustic guitar music. Later that evening I witnessed yet another explosive performance in front of another excited, capacity audience. It was during this blinding show that it dawned on me that Rodrigo Y Gabriela’s music accommodates such a wide range of musical tastes and is quite unique in this respect. And while the duo have played in front of very large audiences I look forward to hearing the recording of a live gig in small club in San Francisco, and perhaps even one where members of The Guitar Trio are invited along for a couple of tracks. It could be one of the finest acoustic guitar recordings of all time… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodrigo_y_Gabriela http://www.shakenstir.co.uk/gallery/30/?album=3054&gallery=1593 |
