Steevi Jaimz – My Private Hell

steevijaimz01

Steevi Jaimz started playing in bands since about the age of 18… His first real band was joined was TREASON. It was the tail end of the NWOBHM, and Treason were a metal band in the vein of Sabbath etc…

After eventually disbanding Treason and forming the legendary (His own words) CRASH KO. together with Phil Vokins and Ace Finchum, they would eventually go their separate ways.

By 1984, after years on the circuit a call came from
Leicester based glamsters CHINA ROGUE (Incidentally, one of the best bands he’d ever been in), and, after a swift audition joined the band… Ironically one of the first shows with CHINA ROGUE was at a place called Bogies in Cardiff, which later played a big part in the latest band he was to join!! CHINA ROGUE split into different directions…

Steevi ended up carrying on with drummer Mark Godfrey, who later joined another
Leicester band CHROME MOLLY… Fast forward to the early spring of 85′. Ace called Steevi to go out to Colorado to again join up with him in local band IDOL THREAT…

On his return to
England in the late summer of 85′, broke and hungry to play in any band. He called an ad that was placed in Sounds magazine; said band turned into TIGERTAILZ,

Ace was called as they needed a new drummer. And on they rode… Unfortunately Steevi fell at the first hurdle, hahahaha. Alcohol, fights and drugs took its toll and he was let go after just one single and album (Young & Crazy) a very apt title for him at the time!

Steevi did actually audition for TOKYO BLADE about 3 or 4 months into his TIGERTAILZ stint, unfortunately he didn’t get the job. He did, however get the contacts that led to TIGERTAILZ making their first record, now on disc, called Original Sin. On his departure from TIGERTAILZ he formed his own outfit ST. JAIMZ. After lengthy touring they released the KICK THAT HABIT single through publishing company Carling Music Corp. Many line-up changes and tours followed. The 80’s came and went, eventually under the STEEVI JAIMZ moniker; he released the Damned If I Do…Damned If I Don’t… record in the late nineties. A retro look back with tracks from CRASH KO, TIGERTAILZ and his own bands…

Almost full circle now…So after a brief couple of years going out as TIGERTAILZ, he has now indeed gone full circle.

Most recently forming a writing partnership and great friendship with Chris Laney and Anders Ringman. The result is to have recorded the best sounding music he’s ever done. It still has the glam rock n’ roll roots but, the sound is modern and powerful…And so here you have, once again…
