FRENCH TV CRIME THRILLER SERIES BRAQUO - SERIES 2

Following the success of the recently released Season 1 box set, and a triumphant television debut on the FX channel, Arrow Films is pleased to confirm the highly acclaimed French cop-thriller BRAQUO’s second series will be released as a 2-disc DVD & Blu-ray Box Set on Monday June 11th 2012.

For this highly anticipated second series, the creators of the original BRAQUO joined forces with Abdel Raouf Dafri, the French writer behind A Prophet and Mesrine, with the results promising to be darker, grittier… and a lot more violent.

Having been demoted, reassigned and even fired from the force, thanks to their escapades in the debut series, is the game up for hard-hitting cops Caplan, Morlighem, Roxanne and Vachewski? Jean-Hugues Anglade (Nikita, Betty Blue) returns as the enigmatic Eddy Caplan to lead his renegade squad of Parisian detectives as they fall yet further in the eyes of the law.

Rejected by their peers and superiors alike, our heroes suffer the shame and disgrace of going from hunters to the hunted. Caught in the crossfire of a gang war, the road to redemption will be long and hard, and they can no longer rely on themselves alone to avoid a total fall from grace.

Hailed as France’s answer to The Wire, BRAQUO has fascinated UK viewers with its violent and realistic story-lines. Hailed as one of the most gripping and brutal police series of the last decade, fans of The Killing, The Wire and The Shield will love BRAQUO.

To coincide with the release of the BRAQUO Season 2 Blu-ray and DVD box set on June 11th, Arrow films will also release a specially packaged box set containing both series to date.

Co-directed by world-famous filmmaker, and former police officer, Olivier Marchal (Gang Story) alongside Frédéric Schoendoerffer, BRAQUO (slang for “Heist”) follows a squad of Parisian law enforcers who exist in the blurred boundaries at the very edge of the law, often using violence and intimidation in order to get the job done. The lives of these officers change radically when their leader, falsely accused of corruption, commits suicide.  Determined to clear his name they begin an investigation of their own, only to find that the police department itself stands in their way.

Driven by adrenaline and a thirst for justice, the remaining officers must turn their backs on the laws they have sworn to enforce if they are to uncover the truth. Facing constant danger from all sides - with the two most likely outcomes being imprisonment or death – the stakes couldn’t be higher, but that merely serves to crank up the tension in this debut series.
