LADY ANTEBELLUM TO OPEN FOR BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AT LONDON’S 2012 HARD ROCK CALLING MUSIC FESTIVAL

OWN THE NIGHT 2012 WORLD TOUR - Extra Shows and Bigger Venues Added In UK & Ireland Due To Huge Public Demand

Also announce new single – Wanted You More 11th June

It has been announced that Brit Award nominees and seven time GRAMMY winning trio Lady Antebellum will open for American music icon Bruce Springsteen on July 14 for a sold out concert at Hyde Park as part of this year’s Hard Rock Calling festival in London, UK.

“It’s Springsteen…there is no entertainer we look up to more than him,” said Lady A’s Charles Kelley. “I’m going to be like a little kid at Christmas watching his show.  It’s the biggest honour for us to be invited to play this festival…the entire line-up is awesome!”

Huge demand for tickets for the previously announced OWN THE NIGHT 2012 WORLD TOUR dates in the UK and Ireland has also prompted Lady A to make special arrangements to accommodate more fans. The July 13 date in Glasgow has moved to a bigger venue, the Clyde Auditorium, and the group recently added a second night in Dublin at the Olympia Theatre.

These shows follow a massive run of sold-out dates in North America and, after hitting the UK & Ireland, the tour continues on through Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Full details are below.

“So far we have only been able to perform in the UK, but after visiting other countries on our album promo tour last year, we decided we wanted to tour more of Europe,” says Dave Haywood.  “We follow fan comments around the world on Facebook and Twitter, and see so many throughout Europe asking us when we will add shows near them.  We’re excited to finally be able to do it!”

Lady Antebellum recently won ‘Best Group’ at the American Music Awards and were nominated for a Brit Award for Best International Group at last month’s Brits, alongside Foo Fighters, Fleet Foxes and Maroon 5.

The band’s most recent album  ‘Own The Night’ entered the UK album charts at no. 4 in October and has sold well over 100,000 copies in the UK to date. They are also set to release their new single ‘Wanted You More’ on the 11th of June.
