THE 2004 EDEN PROJECT CONCERT SESSIONS

The Eden Project’s main mission is to promote the vital relationship between plants and people leading to a sustainable future for all.”

BRIAN WILSON, SUPERGRASS, AIR, PRIMAL SCREAM and BETA BAND CONFIRMED FOR 2004 CONCERT SESSIONS.

Brian Wilson surfs into Eden on the 16th July to participate another great series of open air concerts at the beautiful and internationally renowned Eden Project in Cornwall, UK. The former leading light of the Beach Boys will be performing his only outdoor concert in 2004 at the Eden Project to help raise money for the ongoing development of this unique nature project. Recognised as one of the most influential pop music composers of the last fifty years, Wilson will be performing some of his own classic compositions, in addition to new songs soon to be released on his latest, long-awaited studio album SMILE. It promises to be a fascinating concert in unrivalled surroundings.

Eden’s Creative Director Peter Hampel observed, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see one of the world’s greatest song writing talents, who has specifically asked to perform at Eden. The other piece of good news is that we are able to offer the cheapest ticket price of any of his shows.

Eden Box Office tickets are £40, telephone 01726 811972. Or £43.25 plus postage and packing from Wayahead on 0871 2200260. For online ticket sales visit www.gigsandtours.com. Further information is also available at www.brianwilson.com and www.edenproject.com.

All ticket prices include entry to Eden on the day or day after the concert. Local buses will run to all the sessions from Falmouth, Truro, St Austell and Newquay. Return tickets are £7 and are available from Truronian on 01872 273453.

Here’s what some of the music media said about previous Eden concerts:

The Summer’s most imaginative event

Q Magazine

Like Paradise would’ve looked before Adam and Eve started meddling.”

NME Magazine

The most stunning concert environment anywhere in the world.”

Logo Magazine

An eccentric, brilliant creation of the West Country.”

The Independent

A gorgeous place, a balmy summer night and resinous scent in the air.”

Telegraph

The Eden Sessions is now in its third successive year, with past guest including PJ Harvey, Spiritualized, Doves, Moby, Pulp, The Thrills, and Badly Drawn Boy. It is still one of the very few outdoor musical events where you will not see any logos, advertising or corrugated iron. What you will see is plants, people and music.

OTHER CONFIRMED ACTS APPEARING AT THE EDEN SESSIONS THIS SUMMER (with a few great surprises still to come…)

Primal Scream 6th August, 2004.

Founded by Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie in 1982, Primal Scream have developed a wonderful blend of rock, punk, rave and 60’s garage–psychedelia. The band has produced a clutch of top selling dance mixes including Loaded and Come Together, together with best selling albums such as the classic SCREAMADELICA. As a live performance band, Primal Scream have few peers.

Air 13th August, 2004.

French dance music maestros Air have released several highly acclaimed, top-selling albums, in addition to writing film scores including the music for The Virgin Suicides. The prospect of the duo performing live at Eden is surreal, to say the least.

Supergrass, Beta Band 20th August, 2004.

Music festival favourites Supergrass are still growing strong and the band’s live performances are still some of the best around. With many hit singles and albums under their belt, the band have a another busy festival schedule ahead of them in 2004, but this particular one promises to be something special in the unique surroundings of the Eden Project. The secretive and eccentric Beta Band will be supporting Supergrass to complete one of the most fascinating live gigs in the UK this year.

Womad 27th August, 2004.

The world’s finest series of global folk and world music festivals comes to Eden for the second successive year, with a line-up still to be confirmed. If anything was tailor-made for the Eden Project, this is it. You’ll need to check out the www.edenproject.com and www.womad.org websites for emerging details.
