Crobot & Scorpion Child Live Crobot Biography In the Summer of 2011, Brandon Yeagley and Chris Bishop created Crobot. In 2012 the band’s original lineup self released their debut EP, The Legend of the Spaceborne Killer, along with a music video for the eponymous first single. Later that year, the rhythm section of the band was revamped with the addition of the Figueroa brothers on bass and drums. In 2013, Crobot was discovered by Wind-up Records, and was officially signed in December. On May 13, 2014, they released their self-titled EP, produced by legendary producer Machine (Clutch, Lamb of God, Cobra Starship, Gym Class Heroes). The EP, which features four tracks off their upcoming full-length album, was released to positive reviews. Their first single and video for “Nowhere to Hide” was debuted on Revolver on May 14, 2014 and has since hit number 16 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart as of August 2014. Also in May, Crobot was added to the 2014 lineup for Taco Bell’s Feed the Beat campaign. The band is continuing their extensive touring habits that they are known for. In 2014 alone, they toured with Chevelle, Clutch, The Sword, Truckfighters, KYNG, Kill Devil Hill and more, in addition to playing festivals such as SXSW and Rock on the Range. They embarked on their first UK tour in September, 2014, with The Virginmarys. Crobot started their 2015 in the studio but later performed at the “ShipRocked” music festival at sea from February 2–6 with Limp Bizkit, Black Label Society, Buckcherry, and fellow Wind Up Records band Filter. The band then headed to Europe for a stint with Black Label Society and Anthrax before returning to the U.S. in April for a tour starting in Denver, CO. Crobot describes their music as “Dirty. Groove. Rock.”, and has been compared to hard rock bands like Wolfmother, Queens of the Stone Age, Rage Against the Machine and Soundgarden. Frontman Brandon Yeagley has been praised for his power packed vocals and dynamic stage presence, guiding the band’s “undeniably magnetizing live shows.” Scorpion Child Biography Scorpion Child aka “The Child” is composed of Aryn Jonathan Black (vocals), Christopher Jay Cowart (lead guitar), Alec Padron (bass) and Jon Rice (drums). Signed to German-based independent label Nuclear Blast, the group released their self-titled debut album in 2013, which was produced, recorded, and arranged by Grammy-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith. “The Child” is commonly categorized as early 1970s Krautrock and Psychedelic rock with a modern heavy metal twist and is heavily influenced by groups such as Rainbow, Pentagram, and Lucifer’s Friend. The self-titled album by “The Child” debuted at #26 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart & #99 on the Hard Music Album chart. The single “Polygon of Eyes” off the LP was the iTunes “SINGLE OF THE WEEK” for the week of June 25, 2013. Scorpion Child have since been nominated in 2013 as the “Best New Band” for Classic Rock Magazine’s “Classic Rock Roll Of Honour.” On February 5, 2014, it was announced that rhythm guitarist Tom Frank and drummer Shawn Alvear have departed the band, and former Job for a Cowboy drummer Jon “The Charn” Rice would be Alvear’s replacement. The band has stated then would not be finding a replacement rhythm guitarist, thus making them a four-piece band for the first time.
