Christine and The Queens Live Letissier’s youthful voice is a cut above average but there was so much more. Her dancing and modern choreography were superb. As the show progressed her ability to connect with her audience was supreme and inspiring. It all seemed so easy and natural for her, as though music, performance and communication are in her DNA and soul. The initial two dancers turned into several more for ‘iT’, one of my many highlights of the night. It then dawned on me that word-of-mouth had played a large part in this lady’s popuarity. And it was her live performances that have spread the word like wildfire. I found that her songs came to exciting life in the live environment and that Letissier is the essence of a performance artist that adds a new dimension to synth-pop music and to her well-written songs. The inevitable encore arrived with a Beyonce cover and finally the gentle flow of the emotional, keyboard-led tones of ‘Nuit 52′. Letissier’s dancers and musicians added much to the show as did the modest but effective video backdrop, fabulous sound management and simple but oh so effective lighting. Then of course there’s the star of the show, modest in dress and makeup, natural as air but bursting with a unique set of talents that will ultimately take her on the inevitable journey to global stardom. This is one show that I didn’t want to finish… SETLIST Starshipper http://www.christineandthequeens.com/catq_language/ More images here: http://www.shakenstir.co.uk/index.php/gallery/?album=3438&gallery=1966 Page: 1 2 |
