Rampworx to host World Class In Line Roller Blading Tour Event

Chaz Sands Invitational: A host of World Class In-line rollerbladers will be jetting into the city this May as part of the World Rolling Series (WRS) Tour. Crucially, Rampworx Youth Village, Netherton, Liverpool will be the venue for the WRS tour stop, which will be skating into town on Friday 29th May for the two-day series.

The Invitational event is part of a worldwide tour series and will be one of two World Championship qualifiers in Europe. Over 120 professional riders from as far away as Brazil, Argentina, the US, France, Spain, Italy and Norway will be jetting in to compete for this prestigious title, a jackpot prize of £10,000 and a chance to compete World Championship Final in California at the end of the year.

International skate stars including Brian Aragon, Dre Powell, Dimitrius George and Cossimo Tassoni may not be household names, but they are top of their field in their chosen sport enjoying numerous prestigious titles on the World stage.

The event, which is expected to attract over 1000 spectators, has attracted major mainstream commercial sponsors including Fiat, Extreme TV, Coors, Studio Line and Red Bull. Local young skaters will be able to meet and skate with their heroes during the build up to event. There will even be a free 2-day clinic with 4 of the stars for a select number of young people.

Rampworx is a registered children’s charity and the largest indoor skatepark in the UK, catering for BMX, In Line skating and skateboarding. Each week an average of 1000 young people pass through its doors to participate in a range of activities ranging from extreme sports, coaching and alternative activities ranging from drama, photography, music, video, graffiti art, health schemes and anti crime initiatives.
