Chapman Family 

Indie band the Chapman Family visited my local venue and impressed me greatly. The band’s front man gave one of the most passionate vocal performances of 2009, and I think the above image captures him at his best.

This photo for me captures the type of environment many new bands find themselves playing in during development years - the ‘toilet tour’ phase. By converting the colour image to monochrome emphasises for me the stark nature of time and place.

My Latest Novel

My album of the year was by this band, My Latest Novel. Lighting was awful (the same venue played by the Chapman Family). What struck me about this band was how ordinary they looked, and yet they produce the most beautiful music.
