New for 2010: Halo Stereo After playing more than 150 shows in 2008 at major venues, selling over 3000 albums and digital downloads of their latest work, and obtaining the status of FUSE TV’s Unsigned Artists of the Month, Halo Stereo loves pounding the pavement. After recording their sophomore release, the Invisible War, with noted Producer Rick Beato (Shinedown, I-Nine, Need to Breathe) the band not only captured their unique and highly commercial sound but has mad a believer out of critics and renowned industry professionals alike. They are using that confidence to carry them through a hugely exciting 2009. Already playing SXSW in Austin, TX and opened for national acts including: Saliva, Blacksone Cherry, The Toadies, Shinedown, Days of the New, Framing Hanley and Snoop Dogg. Halo Stereo’s sound is most easily described as mainstream American rock with UK influenced melodies. When mentioning the music of Halo Stereo three topics come to mind: love, machines and the end of civilization. The refreshing yet nostalgic sound and clever musical ideas of Halo Stereo are at first glance impressive, and as they unfold, addictive. These four musicians based out of Nashville, Tennessee have tapped into a vein of Pop Rock music that is topped off with psychedelic lyrics and well-honed musicianship. It’s also loud. They are melodically oriented rock act with well-written songs, poetic lyrics and head turning musicianship. The band was formed in February 2002 by front man Andrew Fry and bassist Jody Hicks. Andrew and Jody grew up near Huntsville, AL and played in a number of bands in the area. After high school was over and the world was at their disposal, Andrew and Jody moved to Nashville, TN. After a few lineups, eventually the duo joined forces with a drummer by the name of Brian Meeks and guitarist, Nathan McDonald, also hailing from nearby Huntsville, AL. Meeks and McDonald both brought a refreshing and distinctive element to the ensemble. The Invisible War hits quickly and undeniably. Their 2006 self titled release Halo Stereo, produced by Grammy Winner; Bill Cuomo was an impressive debut. But it is the 2008 album, The Invisible War, that is taking them into the spotlight and garnering them the wider attention they deserve. Halo Stereo is making ground in the industry by winning audiences with their live performance, songwriting and musicianship. Fans walk away from their shows excited and wanting more. Their hard alternative and melodic style is a tough one to ignore and is carrying Halo Stereo into the future as they tear their way through the ranks and leave audiences in awe and wanting more wherever they go. 2010 will mark some notable shows including a USO Tour in the Middle East and European Music Days Festival in Paris, France. Halo Stereo is making their LA debut with a showcase at The Viper Room on January 14th, 2010.
