Dinosaur Jr/Built 2 Spill: UK Tour

dino1

Grunge heroes Dinosaur Jr. have announced a spring tour with special guests Built to Spill, set to kick off May 8 in Oxford. The band - whose original line up reunited in 2007 for its first album in 18 years - will hit venues across the UK.

dino3

Released in June on PIAS, Dinosaur Jr.’s latest release ‘Farm’ is one of the band’s most critically and commercially successful albums to date. It debuted at #29 on the Billboard charts, a career best for the band and proved to both critics and fans alike that the reunion of Dinosaur Jr. was not just a return to form, but one of America’s greatest living rock bands continuing to deliver some of their best music to date.

Praise for ‘Farm’;

“Alt-rock slayers show they’ve still got it…The band’s original line up hasn’t lost a thunderous step. Avalanching metal riffs and spit-polished solos reach for the sky with a classic-rock charisma the band never went for in its youth.”– Rolling Stone

“Farm sounds like old-school Dino – gnarlier, snarlier, and better than it has any business being.” – SPIN

“Farm demonstrates what the trio has always done best – moody, melodic cacophony.” – The New York Times

“ ‘I Want You to Know,’ from forthcoming album Farm, hits the ground thudding, Murph and Lou Barlow filling the tune’s fat bottom with a healthy amount of swing (and, yes, swagger) as Mascis power-chords his blues away…8.0 / Best New Music” – Pitchfork

These shows will showcase two of the most important bands in the history of American indie music. Dinosaur Jr. with special guests Built to Spill to tour the UK this May
