Hard Rock Night! Live & Livid!

pom-p-1

Puddle Of Mudd is an American rock band from Kansas City, Missouri who formed in 1992 by Wes Scantlin (vocals/rhythm guitar), Sean Sammon (Bass) and Kenny Burkitt (Drums). The name was inspired by the Missouri River flood, which inundated the band’s practice space, and left the floor a big “puddle of mud”.

pom-p-2

To date the band has sold over 7 million albums, and have had a string of #1 mainstream rock singles in the United States. Their major-label debut Come Clean has sold over 5 million copies. They have released two independent and four major albums, with their latest being Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate in December 2009 , and their latest compilation album being “re:(disc)overed”, released in August 2011.

Current members are Wes Scantlin (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Doug Ardito (bass guitar, backing vocals), Paul Phillips (lead guitar),  Dizzi Devereux (guitar), Shannon Boone (drums).

If I was to award a ‘performance of the night award’ Puddle Of Mud would win it by a quite reasonable margin, for both its music and comedy. Yes, you may well ask… Well, Scantlin seemed confused over most of the set as to how long he should be on stage. He kept wandering off only to be called back by his drummer. That said it was a flawless and exciting performance by a vintage band playing vintage songs packed full of melody. The audience reaction was one of the most positive and enthusiastic I’ve seen for any band this year.

Set-List: Out Of My Heart, Control, Away From Me, Drift And Die, Famous, Psycho, Nothing To Lose, TNT, Gimmie Shelter, Blurry, She Hates Me.
