Story One DISPOSABLE. Shy Records

Now here’s an album that you can download for FREE at the band’s website: www.storyone.co.uk, and frankly it beggars belief… It’s a beauty by a new English band just putting the finishing touches to another album. Now if this freebie is so good, what’s the paid-for one going to be like? Think of a darker, more emotional Coldplay or Keane… oh, and so much better…

Bearing in mind what I wrote above it’s appropriate that the first superb track is called Beggars Belief. Tom Evans is the lead man here and has one of those voices that causes monstrous goose bumps to appear. It’s an emotional, powerful and gravely voice that is capable of stopping you in your tracks. The song is gorgeously melodic, epic in scale, rocky, with simple, direct and sensible lyrics. Hell, it’s the complete song and utterly compelling. Track two Count To Three introduces Evans on fiddle and another simply amazing song. I won’t cover any of the other tracks except to say that if I were hosting a radio show (happening soon) I’d be hard pressed to choose a favourite song to play – they are all awesome, believe me. The other reason for not going on is that you can download the album yourself – FOR FREE at www.storyone.co.uk and frankly you’d be fucking crazy not to. Folks, it’s essential and free – how good can that be?
