Cut Chemist THE AUDIENCE IS LISTENING. Warner

Cut Chemist, the world famous DJ, has finally created his debut solo album, THE AUDIENCE IS LISTENING.

For the few people who aren’t familiar with the past works of Lucas McFadden aka Cut Chemist, he started out with the U.N.I.T.Y. Committee and then moved on to be one half of the production team behind Jurassic 5. He has also collaborated on two sample based albums with DJ Shadow - the much sort after and incredibly rare BRAINFREEZE and the follow-up in 2004, PRODUCT PLACEMENT.

Having split from Jurassic 5, Cut Chemist has gone into overdrive having produced hundreds of tracks for possible inclusion on THE AUDIENCE IS LISTENING. The final track listing boasts 12 tracks of sampled delights, including the amazing bout of Hip-Hopery that is ‘What’s the Altitude’ (feat. Hymnal), and the undulating bass lines of ‘Spoon’. The album has a eclectic sound that Cut Chemist has created by drawing from his vast knowledge and huge collection of music. This album is fantastic, and well worth the wait. It’s full of Cut Chemist’s signature drum licks and fantastic scratches. On top of that there are a lot of new elements to his work displayed here and it definitely shows he does not need to collaborate to produce great work. Get hold of this.
