Co-Exist SURGICAL REMOVAL OF TEETH… Undergroove

SURGICAL REMOVAL OF TEETH, TOENAILS AND THE DRILLING OF THE KNEECAPS

One word can sum up this ferocious album - BRUTAL! Hailing from the roughest Scottish Highlands Co-Exist is one of Britain’s most prominent emerging noise mongers to have hit the heavy metal scene since the likes of Napalm Death and Stamping Ground.

Debut album SURGICAL REMOVAL OF TEETH, TOENAILS AND THE DRILLING OF THE KNEECAPS is nothing short of a post-it note to the rest of the UK and the world that the art of serious metal music creation is alive and kicking.

Co-Exist is a full-on, grinding metal band featuring the legendary Paul Catten (Medulla Nocte/ Murder One / Lazarus Blackstar) on vocals. Add to this already volatile concoction a deeply talented band, and lashings of sonic depravity and you might be able to imagine the sheer force of this awesome album. From the first track to the close the beast refuses to let up, dragging you mentally through mine-fields of depravity and some of your worst nightmares. It features stunningly tight drumming and impressive riffery, the likes of which bands like Shadows Fall and even Killswitch Engage might be offended by. Standout tracks are I Am The Leper, Urge To Mutilate and Blackmail

This album and band are not for the faint-hearted, and if your daily choice of music TV is Kerrang and Scuzz, then I strongly advise you to visit a therapist after listening to it. As for the rest of you with little taste, expect shortness of breath and quite possibly big trouble from whom ever you live with for trashing the house in a drunken fury. I love it to death…

4.5/5
