Airbourne LP II & Live 2010

td1

Taking Dawn are a brand spanking new band from Las Vegas who have been making all the right noises and ‘Parting Crowds’ along the way. Their Roadrunner debut has hit the right notes and tonight they show that they are more than capable of opening up a show for anybody… Well the real test comes this summer whe they move up a gear to open up in arenas for Kiss

Black Spiders provided a short and storming heavy rock set that warmed up the audience nicely. Their highlight song is an amazing ‘St Peter.’

They have a couple of members who have cut their teeth in the Mersey Arms and we can’t wait to hear a full length album from them in 2010. The crowd had been warmed up nicely with the Black Spiders who simply rocked like f**k.

Airbourne have returned firing on all cylinders with their anticipated second album which has been met with much acclaim, and it seems it’s time for them to return to what they do best. Airbourne come in the tin marked ‘What You See Is What You Get’ and they never let you down. The audience is primed, ready to rock and Airbourne deliver on all levels… They are not for me perhaps because 30 years ago I saw AC/DC deliver at all levels in this same city with a young new band called Def Leppard. It’s a case of what goes around comes around. Airbourne are also not for me because they are the next generation’s way of hitting the highway to hell, and I remember what that felt like…

However,  Airbourne at the same time as being wrong for me,  are oh so right for me! For that reason they are one of the best things to have wrapped around your ears; not many bands can be young and straddle the generations like they do. So buy the record, see them live, and love the rock like we all did, do and will… Running Wild & Free… Now pass me that Cuban and Uncle Jack! Words: Jj-2010 / Live Photo’s: Paul ‘2-Tall’ Townrow
