Singer Francis Rossi knows Liverpool well and spent a lot of his youth here as his mother is from Crosby. In 2009 Status Quo played at the Glastonbury Festival. In the same year Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt were awarded the OBE in the New Year Honours for their long-standing work for charities including the Prince’s Trust, the Heart Foundation and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

Status Quo’s total world-wide record sales exceed 118 million units and they have recorded 64 British hit singles - more than any other band - 22 of which have hit the Top Ten. The first hit was ‘Pictures Of Matchstick Men’ which reached Number 7 in January 1968.
