Radio Ugly: The Movie…

Independent Internet Radio Station Comes To Life In Film
Website: http://www.radiouglythemovie.com

This film has been a year in the making and documents the 6 years RadioUgly has been in existence. RadioUgly was started in 2004 by Ken Lytle in upstate New York in an effort to have a platform to network with friends and indulge his passion for music. As time went on he discovered an abundance of undiscovered talent that existed but was not being heard on mainstream radio. In 2006 he decided to move the station towards an Independent Music format. He discovered a hard road with numerous changes, loss of listeners, and loss of staff. Eventually it all came together, the staff was more talented and the listeners returned and grew in number. Sheer determination and tons of hard work paid off with what you will agree is the best damn Independent Rock Station on the net.

RadioUgly The Movie is chock full of interviews with artists, video of remote feeds of live music, and some great backstage footage of the station and its staff, as well as an explanation of what we do and – most importantly – why we do it. In 2009, in an effort to save music education at a time when the schools are struggling with funding.

RadioUgly started the Music Outreach Program. This program puts musical instruments into the hands of children who have the talent, but possibly not the funds, to take up this interest without outside support. RadioUgly has given guitars, drums, amps and other equipment and music supplies donated to us from music stores in the area to local children enrolled in music courses who did not have instruments of their own. One of the purposes of RadioUgly The Movie is to create more funding and support for this program. If you are interested in supporting this very worthy cause, and giving a child a chance to pursue a dream that includes music, please contact Ken Lytle at kenlytle@gmail.com.

Monetary donations, as well as new and used instruments that have been sitting around and collecting dust, have the ability to make a child’s free time and musical interests a dream realized. When you donate items, you will receive documentation of the donation, along with a thank you letter from the station and photos of the give away. This information will be also be posted on the station website, with full credit given to you as the source of the donation.

On the RadioUgly The Movie soundtrack and accompanying CD, you will hear incredibly talented RadioUgly independent artists like Hellbabys, One Eye Open, Frank Palangi, Phil Camp, Flakjacket – and many more! RadioUgly The Movie and the movie soundtrack CD will be sold separately, as well as in a combination package. RadioUgly The Movie is loaded with high quality independent music by artists you can hear on www.radiougly.us.

Due to space limitations, the RadioUgly The Movie Soundtrack CD has a selected group of songs from the movie. I highly recommend the combo package which will assure you hear all of the great independent music from the talented artists heard on and supported by www.radiougly.us. Who knows? You may just find your new favorite band. : )
